There's wax in the lipstick which is why the regular cleaners don't work. You can use a solution of ammonia and hot water to clean it up. Ammonia is a natural wax remover. Odds are a new cover is less than the chemicals need it to clean it
I would try the Mr Clean Dry Easer. I was amazed how it got pencil, pen and crayon marks off walls, floors, and plaster.
These things are quite incredible and they dont cost much.
Give them a try.
